The scientific topic on cordyceps culture was researched by Dr. Truong Binh Nguyen and Dr. Dinh Minh Hiep, associate professor-Dr. Le Huyen Ai Thuy for six years. This is a research project that is highly appreciated because cordyceps is a very rare type of traditional medicine originating from Tibet, growing only at an altitude of 3,500m or more.

Vietnam has become the 5th country after the US, Japan, China and South Korea to successfully culture cordyceps (genus sinensis) after Dr. Truong Binh Nguyen, University of Da Lat, successfully defended the topic. Scientific paper on culturing cordyceps sinensis on July 30.
Dr. Truong Binh Nguyen said: “Cordyceps sinensis is different from Cordyceps militaris because the Cordyceps pupae (grass) grows anywhere on the worm (worm) stem. Cordyceps only grows at the head of the insect. Cultivating siensis is much more difficult than militaris. I see many Cordyceps pupae products, still called Cordyceps, for sale in the market today.”
Mr. Nguyen said he had failed many times before the scientific research project on culturing cordyceps sinensis was successful.
“The most difficult thing is that cordyceps can only grow at an altitude of 3,500m and above while Da Lat cannot reach that altitude, so the climate, soil, humidity… it is difficult to create products. successful,” said Mr. Nguyen.
The Scientific Council has reviewed and commented on the research work of Dr. Truong Binh Nguyen and assessed the eligibility for the grant of certificates of scientific works.
The product from Cordyceps sinensis of Dr. Truong Binh Nguyen has also changed from self-grinding powder form to bottled tablet form and received a confirmation of publication of conformity with food safety regulations from the Food Safety Department, Ministry of Food Safety and Health. Medical on 7/7.
Professor-Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Head of the Department of Scientific Research and Library, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the Scientific Council, evaluated this as an elaborate, high-quality work. High reliability: “The applicability to practice is completely grounded. This is a good topic that needs support to apply to life and continue research”.
