Biology and Biotechnology students explore high-tech flower production in the heart of Da Lat
To bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical applications, students from classes CSK49A, CSK49B, SHK49, and SHK49SP of the Faculty of Biology – Dalat University participated in an educational field trip to Dalat Hasfarm, Vietnam’s leading enterprise in flower production and export.
During the visit, students gained firsthand insights into modern greenhouse cultivation, observing the entire process from growing and caring for roses and begonias to nutrient management, pest control, sorting, packaging, and preservation of flowers destined for domestic and international markets.
The experience provided a vivid connection to key subjects such as Botany, Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Entomology, and Plant Pathology, helping students understand how theoretical foundations are applied in modern agriculture and biotechnology.
Beyond knowledge, the trip inspired students to pursue innovation in sustainable agriculture, research, and high-value crop production.
This activity also highlights the strong partnership between Dalat University and Dalat Hasfarm, promoting university–industry collaboration in training high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s growing high-tech agricultural sector.
