On November 18, 2025, the Faculty of Biology in collaboration with Hop Nhat Science Company Limited organized a workshop “New advances in genomics research” to introduce Digital Microdroplet PCR technique and some applications in agriculture, Application of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) in soil microbiome analysis and Identification of native plant genotypes.

The workshop was attended by school leaders (Dr. Nguyen Van Ngoc – Vice Principal), Prof. Dr. Duong Tan Nhut (Deputy Director of the Institute of Life Sciences), a number of universities, colleges, research institutes, centers, …, companies (F1, Agriex, Hop Nhat, …) in Lam Dong province, teachers of the Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry and more than 200 students studying at Dalat University.
For Dalat University, genomics is not only a modern academic approach but also an important strategic orientation. The University is honored to have the Ministry of Education and Training approve the project “Enhancing research capacity and application of gene technology in biodiversity assessment and conservation of natural, endemic and rare genetic resources of the Central Highlands region.” This is an important milestone affirming the pioneering role of Dalat University in biological research in the region, while opening up many opportunities to access new technology, invest in equipment and develop high-quality human resources.
